ITIL Change Process Flow
IT Service Continuity Management helps to ensure the availability and rapid restoration of IT services in the event of a disaster. The fundamental purpose of Configuration Management is to establish and maintain the integrity and control of software and hardware products (e.g. servers, source code, patches, documents, CPU’s etc) throughout a project’s life cycle. The goal of Change Management is to ensure that standardized methods and procedures are used for efficient handling of all changes, in order to minimize the impact of change-related incidents and to improve day-to-day operations. Van Schaik compiled the 1985 book A Management System for the Information Business (since updated with a 2006 re-issue by Red Swan Publishing).
The IT Service Capability Maturity Model uses the CMM maturity measurement model. A plan often involves the use of a location that provides power and telecommunications, where companies can use their own equipment.

Local Service Desk: to meet local business needs - is practical only until multiple locations requiring support services are involved. Others of us have been through the smaller ones - Boiler Exploding in a building, a building falling into the Normanskil, and lightening hitting the building.
